When does Dukabot actually launch?
Q1 2027 for Nairobi, the founding cohort's opening quarter. Mombasa follows in Q2 2027, Kisumu in Q3 2027, and outward from there. Your county opens when we're confident it works there. No rushed rollouts.
Is my WhatsApp number safe with you?
Yes. Kept in Kenya, never sold, and we only WhatsApp you when we open your county. One message. That's the whole deal.
What if my county isn't first?
Your founding rate stays locked, even if Nairobi opens now and your county opens six months later. When Evo gets to you, the deal comes with it.
Do I have to pay after my three free months?
No. Drop to the Free tier anytime. You keep everything you've built. Or stay on your founding Starter rate at KSh 1,000/mo, forever. That's KSh 2,750 less than everyone else every single month.
How's this different from spreadsheets or my current setup?
No app to download. No spreadsheets. No training. You WhatsApp Evo ("sold 3 sodas na bread") and your stock, sales, deni book, and dashboard update themselves. If you can chat, you can run your duka.
What about M-Pesa — where does the money actually go?
Customers pay by M-Pesa STK Push inside the WhatsApp chat, and your shop is set up on 1 of 2 settlement lanes. On the Daraja lane, DukaBot charges your own M-Pesa Till or Paybill through Safaricom Daraja, and the sale lands in your Safaricom account like any other M-Pesa payment. On the IntaSend lane, DukaBot collects into a dedicated wallet for your business, and you cash out to your M-Pesa from the dashboard. IntaSend, our payments partner, is PCI-DSS compliant: M-Pesa PINs and card details are entered in the Safaricom STK prompt or IntaSend's Hosted Checkout, not on DukaBot's servers.
Does Evo speak Swahili? Sheng?
Habari yako? English, Swahili, Sheng, or however you mix them. Evo grew up in Nairobi. "Nimeuza soda tatu na bread" works. So does "sold 3 sodas + a loaf". So does whatever's in between.
